Who’s this Fool?
There’s an argument that’s existed for as long as we’ve been telling stories. Is the story separate from the storyteller? Can you separate the art from the artist? I don’t know. Understanding an author can offer insight into the stories, but that insight might distract from the stories themselves. I hope, even after learning my backstory, you can still enjoy the products of my only half-conscious mind.
My Story

Genesis
Long ago, in a forgotten corner of the world called California, in the lost city of San Diego, a child was born to peasant workers. Poor, ignorant, and lacking of even the most basic hygiene, this ill-formed infant was destined for mediocrity.

Military
After the death of his noble godfather, the boy became a (sorta) man within the ranks of the US Army. Turning his back on an academic life (dropped out of college), the nascent-man served in Kosovo, Kuwait, and Iraq, fighting for freedom, wherever there was trouble. After a decade of service, the Army showed its gratitude for his service and sacrifice by declaring him too crazy for combat.

Education
With his soldiering finished, he returned to his academics (couldn’t find a job). He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (after changing majors half a dozen times), before moving to New England. He completed his graduate studies at the University of New Hampshire with two Masters of Art degrees and a Master of Fine Arts (because making up his mind on one thing is impossible).

Travels
Over the years, he has traveled from one exotic locale to another (that damned ADD again). He’s visited Canada, England, France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Greece, Turkey, Israel, Jordan, and Egypt. All of these travels, though they should have filled him with wonder, only ever left him with an aching need to see even more.

Teaching
Finding his calling in the classroom (those who can’t…), he now shares his experiences, his knowledge and his (*snort) wisdom with a new generation of eager minds. A teacher of literature and writing at the Wentworth Institute of Technology (because he sinned in a past life), he imparts the secrets of effective rhetoric (shouting, mostly), and dignified… uh, stuff.

The Future
Having received numerous medals from the Army, graduated with high honors from college, and won multiple writing awards, now he dedicates himself to mastering his craft. Using his past and his delusional, twisted, feverish fantasies, he explores strange new worlds, seeks out new life…
He writes completely original stories that don’t steal from anything… honest.
